FAQ

  1. Will I see other practitioners at Knight Integrative Medicine?

Lifestyle education and nutritional therapy are vital components of your treatment plan. Following your initial medical consultation, you will meet with our certified health coach and board-eligible nutritionist Dana LeDuff, FMCHC. She will provide recommendations based on your health concerns and tailor your diet based on medical evaluation and test results. You will follow-up with your health coach in person, by phone or email consultations. Dr. Knight will also refer to you providers outside our practice as she deems necessary to your treatment regimen.

  2. Do you take insurance?

Knight Integrative Medicine does not accept insurance; we do not file insurance claims on your behalf, nor do we assist with claim resolution. However, we will provide a detailed receipt of services performed for you to submit to your insurance carriers. We expect payment in full by cash or credit card due at the time services are provided.

  3. Whom do I contact?

Our phone number is (985) 867-5516 or toll-free at 1-866-378-0231.
All questions and concerns can be communicated via email to info@knightintegrative.com

  4. Where are you located?

Knight Integrative Medicine is located in the Maple Ridge Shopping Center off of N. Highway 190 and directly across the street from AutoZone.

  5. Can I submit a claim to Medicare?

No, Knight Integrative Medicine providers do not participate in the Medicare program. If you are a Medicare Part B beneficiary and wish to become a patient of the practice, you are required to accept the terms and conditions set forth in a Private Contract between you and your Knight Integrative Medicine provider. This Private Contract provides that absolutely no Medicare payment will be made to you or to the practice or the services provided, even if such services are covered by Medicare. Under the Private Contract, you acknowledge that you accept full responsibility for the payment of charges for all services rendered by Knight Integrative Medicine; such payments are due in full at the time of service. Knight Integrative Medicine will not require you to sign the Private Contract if you are experiencing an emergency or urgent issue.

  6. What credit cards do you accept?

We accept the following credit cards: American Express, MasterCard, Visa and Discover. It is important to maintain an active credit card on file with our office for billing of follow-up consultations, laboratory testing, and other services. If you plan to pay with a debit card we require a second method of payment on file as some debit cards have a daily payment limit.

  7. Is Dr. Candice Knight a primary care physician?

She is trained as family medicine/primary care physician and is board-certified in both family medicine and integrative medicine. However, because she doesn’t participate in the insurance model she is not considered a primary care physician in the conventional sense and functions more as a specialist in integrative medicine. While she is frequently consulted by her colleagues in conventional medicine to assist in patient care or by patients as a consulting provider that is part of a larger team of physicians, she does serve as the primary provider/home base for many of our patients. We are happy working in either capacity. We can provide acute-care services but since this is what conventional medicine does very well, they are not the focus of our practice here at KIM and we therefore are often not the most cost-effective way to address such concerns. We will work with you closely as consultants and coaches in preventive, nutritional and functional medicine to help you address the roots of chronic health problems and also to help you achieve peak performance and health optimization. She can confer with your primary care doctor or specialists, if desired.

  8. Do I have to see the physician in person for my medical consultation?

Yes, her medical licenses require that she meet with a patient in order to provide an initial medical consultation. In-person visits can be provided remotely via our telemedicine platform if coming to the office is not feasible. Please call the office for more details. Follow-up appointments can be arranged by phone, telemedicine or in the office.
